The following is a statement from the Rev Phyllis Bainbridge
Remembrance Sunday: 8 November 2020
Further to meetings with Church and Community groups, we are sad and sorry to announce the following:
In line with other local churches and town centre events, we have cancelled all parades, indoor church civic services and the attendance of anyone under 18 on Remembrance Sunday. The latest government guidelines limit the numbers who can assemble in our churchyards to 30 invited guests. These 30 people will be wreath-layers and local organisation representatives. The Service of Remembrance will begin at 10.45am and will be live streamed on the Church’s Facebook page.
The Churchyard will be closed to the public from 10am – 12 noon on Sunday 8 November and for the rehearsal from 10am to 12 noon on Saturday 7 November.
Members of our community may visit the memorials in the churchyard and lay personal wreaths or crosses after 12 noon on Sunday 8 November and until 12 noon on Friday 13 November. We remind everyone to social distance at all times, please.
